Archachatina- Found in South and West Africa, these snails lay large eggs, that can be upto 2cm long, that sometimes take upto 2 months to hatch, they all have a blunted-round apex, whille in Achatina the apex is much more pointed.
They're skin is usually rough, all species of Archachatina have a raised "V" on they're tail, the only Achatina that has such a characteristic is Achatina achatina, but they also have a pointed shell, and as such, are easy to identify and tell apart from Archachatina species.
